Spring means Wood energy is rising to meet Earth energy

How does embodying the qualities of empathy help you embrace growth, remain flexible, and manage the fluctuations of life?

I am here to help you create your own embodied practice based on learning about your internal organs. This provides a place for you to orient when everything around you feels negative, dark, and scary.

As I have shared with you previously, this practice embodies the qualities we observe in nature. What are you observing in nature? Can you feel these qualities within yourself? How does the light of the spring sun feel inside of you?

The quality that is significant this time of year is growth.

I feel a vibration. I noticed the first tender green leaves on my tree today. They are so green that they seem to vibrate as I watch them. This is growth energy moving up and meeting the light of the spring sun.

March is a month where the Liver/Wood energy is rising to meet the Large Intestine/Earth energy that was dominating the past two weeks. This creates a vibration that we recognize as “spring fever.”

This vibration can feel amazing – it can awaken the fire within, provide a renewed sense of purpose and renewed motivation. Adversely, it can also get out of control – it can create headaches, allergies, neck and shoulder pain, ear ringing, high blood pressure, strokes, insomnia, anger and frustration.

A way to control the rising Liver/Wood energy is to soften with empathy.

The metaphor from nature for soft Wood energy is bamboo. Bamboo is one of the strongest woods, grows extremely fast, but is also incredibly soft and flexible. It is the flexibility that allows it to handle the storms.

What does flexibility feel like to you? How can you embody it in your mind, in your body, and in your spirit? The Ancients recommend starting with empathy. Allow the vibrating growth energy to permeate your tissue and create a soft flexible space within so you can move with grace through chaotic times.
